It’s absolutely true that the world of marketing can be overwhelming. There are so many channels and platforms, so many ways to create content, and so many ways to spend money.

You try to make smart investments, but you have no idea if they’re paying off. You try to stand out, but somehow you end up looking and sounding like everyone else. And every time you look up, you see someone else doing it better than you.

It’s no wonder most agents get fed up with the whole thing. But let me tell you a secret…

It does NOT have to be that complicated.

Branding and marketing can (and should!) be fun—dare I say inspiring. And once you learn the basics, it can be easy to do it yourself.

I know because I’ve spent the last decade honing my own simple, strategic approach to real estate marketing and teaching it to other agents, and I’ve seen the evidence…

This stuff WORKS.

And when I say it works, I mean it helps you build and nurture the relationships that are the engine of your business.

Lots of agents make the mistake of thinking that marketing is about getting your name “out there.” 

I prefer to think of it as an extension of your CRM.

It’s a way to connect with your ideal clients and help them get to know, like, and trust you before they even meet you.

It’s a way to demonstrate your expertise and establish yourself as a trusted advisor, not a commodity.

It’s a way to stay top-of-mind with your past clients and sphere of influence.

In other words, it’s not a silver bullet—just another way to be a human connecting with other humans.

I learned that way back when I was getting my marketing degree…but I didn’t fully appreciate it right away. My parents and grandparents were in real estate, so right after college, I dove straight into the business and never looked back. 

I spent the first ten years working alongside my family and getting deeply involved with industry associations. I served as a leader of the National Association of Realtors, the Chicago Association of Realtors, and the Women’s Council of Realtors, and I was even named one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 in real estate.

But after trying a bunch of different roles at different companies, I started to get bored. 

I wanted to inject some of my passions into my work—things like interior design, nature, and supporting women-owned businesses. Bit by bit, I built my brand as a real estate broker around my whole self…and people started to take note. 

The more authentic and human I was in my marketing, the more people were drawn to connect with me. Finally, my sphere was growing in a way that felt natural and easy.

It all came together when a family trip to Greece (with its gorgeous olive trees) inspired the brand name: Olive Well - Where All Live Well.

I’ve now built a team of 13 agents, helping them grow using the same strategy that has been so effective for me. 

It doesn’t require you to know everything there is to know about the crazy and ever-changing world of marketing. You just need to understand a few basics. Things like…
